On April 4-5, a group of 30 young and enthusiastic members of Johor Bahru BM church (JBBM) were trained on how to conduct health activities. With the aim of reaching out to the community around them, JBBM members attended the training entitled “The Call of Health Evangelism”. The group, majority of which were young people, were trained and consecrated for the work ahead. The training started with Pr. Danson Ng, SAUM Health Director sharing on “The Goodness of Health Evangelism”. He continued to encourage church members to be center of influences for their community using their own strengths in different ways.
Ms Rose Solano PEM’s Acting Health Director, continued by teaching the theory of health interventions and tests that are part of a health screening. The next day, Pr Danson shared a message during the worship service. The training proceeded to the practical part where all the trainees had the opportunity to learn how to run the tests offered during a health screening. They also took time to practice their newly acquired skills among each other. The new health team was consecrated to the work of Health Evangelism and took the challenge to be the right influence for others in their community.
