Regeneration Training kicked off in PEM

“Building Support for the Weak” was the theme of the first Regeneration training in PEM. Held at the premise of the Adventist Community Health Centre, also known as ACC, the forty-five participants came as far as Penang and Johor Bahru, almost 400 km north and south of Kuala Lumpur. Pastors Abe Carpena & Gration Perera, SSD & SAUM Health Directors respectively, held the audience as they listened and participated in the program.

It was a journey of discovery to everyone present in the seminar, understanding the process of addiction, recovery, and how our church can extend help to these unfortunate individuals who are caught in the web of addiction. The video-showing and skit of a “Burdened Family” highlighted the fact on how everyone in the family is affected if one member is an addict.

The 3-day training ended with a commitment service with both Pastors Abe & Gration, together with Elder Marcia, leading out in a dedicatory prayer to those group of individuals who made a choice in their hearts to start up a Christian support group in their respective churches using the Regeneration materials.

As one participant puts it, “this program is another tool which my church can use in order to create an impact to the community around my church.”

Praise be to God indeed!
