Northern Youth Alive Held in Penang
18-21 September 2009 – While Malaysia is celebrating the month of
Ramadhan, 131 young people and 37 youth and adult facilitators and
camp leaders gathered at College General premise in the beautiful
island of Penang during the Youth Alive camp – a camp dedicated to
helping young people choose positive lifestyle, a lifestyle of Jesus
Christ.

This is the third Youth Alive camp held over the last three years
in Peninsular Malaysia Mission (PEM). With the theme “WHO AM I?”
Pastor Erickson Fabien, a dynamic Pastor from Singapore, was used by
the Holy Spirit in bringing messages of God’s unfailing love to the
young people, alongside informative health messages from Mrs. Jane
Yap, PEM Health Director, Dr. Dicky Ng, Dr. Edward Nathan & Dr. Yen
Ang of Penang Adventist Hospital Church Wellness Clinic.

The young people enjoyed a great camaraderie of friendship as
they were led to different activities in the family groups led by
Marvin Marcelino, Guidance Counselor of Bangkok Adventist
International School.

Perhaps the best way to describe the experience of the young
people who attended this camp is through the words of Cindy Lim, a
15 year old girl from Penang who posted in her facebook:
“Finally I know who I am...I am yours, Lord! Youth alive is so
good, I gained experience and made new friends...I love Youth Alive,
it made me become alive to do anything...thanks youth alive!”
To the working committee of Penang Youth Alive – kudos to all of
you! Well done indeed and God be praised!
