Kulai Church Report 2009
Church Extension
As the congregation grows, Kulai Church had a vision on church
expansion few years ago. The owner for the shop next door is a
butcher and running his business of selling pork each morning
insisted that his shop is not for sale.

In year 2009, he came to us on one Sabbath morning and requested a
talk with our church elders. Here he questioned: “Aren’t you
guys wanted to have my shop? I am now willing to let go!” We
grasped this golden opportunity seeing it as miracle wrought by
God.
Financial is always a big issues to us but not to God. As we had
little faith in raising the Church extension fund, God had
impressed many of our beloved members, included members from Ulu
Tiram and Skudai Church, to make it a success even in this time
of recession. Among the RM60000 we raised, RM10000 was
contributed by a sister who had missed the church for years yet
showing great concern while she knew the need of God’s House in
extension. Let God’s name be praised.
We would like to show our appreciation to Kulai’s church elder,
deacons and committee members where they had played a major role
in this project. In saving the cost, the backdrop of the church
was done by the gifted hands of our sisters in Christ. Not to
forget our PEM Mission who also supported this project,
financially and spiritually.
The church, right after extension was utilize for the big event of
the years: Cracking the Prophecy, The Year End Evangelist
Crusade.

Evangelist Meeting November 28th – December 5th 2009
The year end evangelist meeting was highly anticipated. We had
invited Pastor Emmanuel Baek, an international evangelist from
The Amazing Facts as our guest speaker. We had our ground work
done throughout the year by Bible study and visitation. Prayer
was offered that the seeds sowed will bring in shelves.
Flyers were printed and distributed 2 weeks ahead. Friends and
nonmembers were invited. It was not easy to have 8 series of
meeting each night. Praise the Lord there we had about 150
attending the meeting, included 15-20 new visitors each session.
Many souls were touched and revived; they rededicate their life
to God. Some had made a firm decision to follow Jesus while some
were still in struggle.
One of our brothers whom had been working on Sabbath day had
committed to have Sabbath off after the meeting. He is willing
to quit the job even if he is not allowed to keep the Sabbath.
These are the works of the Spirit.

Baptism
As the evangelists meeting go on, some had been touched to follow
Jesus. The Baptism on the Sabbath afternoon was a joy to all of
us and to the heavenly court. We had 14 souls who are willing to
surrender their life to Jesus.

Living With Hope
Kulai Church together with Kluang Group had order 30000 booklets
of Living with Hope. Our members had been looking forward to
participating in this project.

We divided them in a group of 5-6, going out in the morning to
distribute the booklet door to door. It was hard to work under
the blazing sun, but we had the mission that this “Hope” must
reach to our neighborhood.
We help ourselves when we help other. Some of the youth are
revived through this program. It is indeed a fulfilling
experience to cooperate with our Heavenly Father. Jia Sheng, 14
year god, our newly baptized member requested us to bring him in
for this project lest he stayed home and tempted by the PC game.
What a change where he used to reject us for church activities
because of PC game.
Often we see no hope in entering to the apartments or condominium.
But Woon Cheng, our sister who had a good courage, received the
permission of entering the compounds from the guard house upon
request. We never thought that it was that easy. As we approach
another apartment, our hope dash away when our request were
rejected. But we were then enlightening because the security
guards were willing to help us in distribute the booklets.
Believe it or not, about 3000 booklets were actually distributed
by the security guards around JB and Kulai areas. When God is at
work, marvelous work will be wrought. It was a touching scene
when you see these guards reaching out the booklets to every
householder that passes by.
Shi Yun, 19 years old was distributing the booklets in City
Square, a Shopping Mall. The group had been doing the work
quietly or they will be chased out by the security guard and she
was one of them that drove out by one of the security guard. She
did not give up and she found herself a place again to
distribute the booklets even though she knew that the security
guard was not afar. When she was about finished after two hours
of distribution, the security guard approached her and
frightened her off again. But to her surprise, the security was
asking for a booklet because he himself is also a Christian but
had not been attending the church for long. In fact, I believe
that God had been touching his heart for allowing His Words to
be distributed for two hours.
One of our sister, having no way to distribute the booklet because
all work had been done in her area, she posted them to all her
relatives and friends far off. There are many to tell but in
short, every member was giving a chance to participate in this
program subsidy by PEM Mission.
Christmas Program
Our Christmas Program was specially designed for Living with Hope
Project. Seeing “no hope” in entering to shopping mall, we find
out another “hope” that we can freely distribute this message of
Hope. We offered caroling activities to the marketing managers
of 3 shopping malls, where one of them is TESCO. We were not
only singing but we also brought along “Christmas gift” for
them.
TESCO had rejected our offered but we carried on our out-reach
program for 3 days, starting from 22-24th. We visited old folks
home, Calvary Health Care center and even some restaurants/
cafes for the caroling program. TESCO call us out of the blue
during the program and invited us there the very first night.
All of us were so nervous because we only had 2 sessions of song
practice before this. Surprisingly, many stopped by and listened
to us, of course, we had our “gift” ready for them. The TESCO
manager was so happy that we make it so beautifully, we sung
very well according to him. I believe the angels were praising
and singing together with us that few nights. We were then given
a permission to freely distribute the gift of “Living with Hope”
in the compound of TESCO. It was a marvelous scene when you see
all of them excluded Muslim, with this book in their hand when
they were doing their shopping.
God command us to go and share the Gospel and we are to believe
that He will take care of the outcome.
